Kempton David you are four. How did time go by so fast, yet seem to stand still all at the same time. All of your four short years seem to run together in my mind. Maybe it's because you are the middle child, or maybe it's because you've been wearing 24 month clothes for almost 3 years. You are such a little guy with a big spirit. I can see the wheels turning in your head daily, the grooves getting deeper in your brain. You're a witty little guy and a stubborn one too. You know what you want and no one or nothing can change your mind. Your scream steps on every single one of mama's nerves and it is the one thing I could do without. But your snuggles more than make up for it. I love that you still fit perfectly in my lap, and that you ask to climb up there often.

You are such a good big brother to Aniston. I love when you call her Aniston Lynn. You are always watching out for her even when mommy tells you I have it all under control. Cohen "agabates" you. He is the source behind most of your screams. It's not always his fault though. I can tell you are just trying to keep up with him and you get frustrated when your age holds you back. Deep down you are best buds. I see glimpses of your future friendship when we are out in public. That is when your bond is tightest.

When asked what activity you would like to do for the day you always answer, go to Target!!

Kemp this is the year you are going to change so much. I always feel like 4 is such a transitional year. You go from being a baby to a big boy. Right around 4.5 I will want to freeze time. You will be independent, but still so sweet and innocent.  You have learned so much from being in school for a year, constantly coming up with random facts I had no clue you knew, like who is on the $5 dollar bill. Mom and dad really enjoy watching you grow.

This year you requested a minecraft party, actually a minecraft basketball party. I love that you just can't let go of your love for sports. You wanted to invite more than just cousins this year and requested Beau, Joe, Sam, Hudson and Kaiden. Most of who are in Cohen's grade at school. It was the cutest thing ever seeing these older boys celebrate you. The whole time we were planning the party daddy kept saying "hey Kempton, you know what's cool? Basketball. You know what's not cool? Minecraft." You would laugh and gently remind him that they are both cool!

We celebrated you the whole week of your birthday. On Monday you took treats to your school. On Tuesday (your real birthday) we went to Chuck E Cheese with cousins. On Wednesday you had donuts with dad at school. Then Saturday we had your minecraft party with friends. You are one lucky little four year old.

On your actual birthday I let you pick one activity for the day. You wanted to go to Target and buy a batman piggy bank ha! You also requested a "couch" cart, popcorn, and a slushie.

Kemp, you know what's cool? Basketball. You know what's not cool? Ha! But Kemp you are always the coolest!!
