Staycation: Ironworks Indy

IMG_9238.JPG

Have you ever had an idea/dream that you watch be played out step by step? My staycation with Ironworks Indy was something like that. I’ve lived in Indiana my whole life, well except for a little stint bouncing around Michigan and Ohio, but for the majority of my life. I watched the Ironworks building be constructed from start to finish, excited that something so spectacular was coming to my city. I dreamed of a place where I could escape daily life and retreat to a place that had it all without having to drive for hours or hop on a plane. Could this be it?!?

Well after two glorious stays with Ironworks Indy I can excitedly tell you YES!! Ironworks is your dream staycation destination. From a modern aesthetic, to an overly committed staff, and all your pampering and dining needs, this place is pure magic. The moment you whoosh through the front doors you are aromatically greeted by a smell only a vacation can have, and the most friendly valet/doorman. You will be excited about your decision before you even see your room.

On my first stay we were celebrating my husbands birthday. I went to the hotel ahead of him to check in early and sneak a few surprised into our room. We stayed in one of the heritage rooms, and I was very pleased with the amount of space we had. It was the perfect set up, and felt super masculine and cool. Much to my surprise the staff had already decorated the room with balloons, a bottle of wine, and a dessert to welcome us. Gosh, those little details get me. You could definitely feel the personal touches, which made me even more excited to spend the weekend there.

After check in we cleaned up for dinner and easily strolled right on over to Provision, one of my favorite places to eat and have cocktails. Especially during warmer months when you can sit on the balcony. You have to check it out! The food, the vibe, everything about it screams I am not in Indiana anymore. It just feelings like vacation. It’s such a romantic spot, and I love that it is connected to my favorite hotel. Such a great couples getaway.

We had massages at Massage Heights scheduled bright and early the next morning and also brunch at Rize. Everything located right there in the hotel. It’s all just so convenient. Especially since this was the month of February and the temps can be brutal. We never had to leave the hotel!! Also the hotel gym is larger than most, and very aesthetically pleasing, making you want to spend extra time there. A great workout, followed by a massage and brunch. What could be better?!

I can’t say enough how perfect this little getaway was for us to celebrate my husband. Close enough to home that travel doesn’t feel cumbersome, and far enough away that if feels like an escape. If you are needing a quick get away, or even just a place to stop in Indy, this is your destination. Not only was I lucky enough to experience this hotel with my spouse, but also two weeks later as a girls weekend. An entirely different experience, but fabulous all the same.

We we're celebrating my friend Megan’s baby shower, and were given the founders suite. Holy Moly!!! This space will knock your socks off. Complete with its own terrace you feel like a king. We threw up some decorations, but didn’t need many as the room was already so beautiful, and had the night of our lives. I pre ordered appetizers from Provision and they were delivered perfectly on time. There were affordable wine bottles in the room so we cracked a few opened and enjoyed our apps on the terrace. So dreamy!!!!

We had massages scheduled for early evening so we put on our robes to head down to the spa. Massage Heights Indy is always so great and welcoming. We just love that we don’t even have to leave the hotel to go get pampered. After our hour long massages, which by the way when you are staying at the hotel you get a discount price, we went back to our room to put on comfortable clothes to slink off for sushi and cocktails. Blue sushi saki grill is connected to the hotel as well, and my number one choice for sushi in the city. I just can’t get enough of the shisito peppers and the vegan cowgirl roll!!! Not to mention their cocktails are next level. After dinner we headed back to the room for a movie and snacks, thanks to the large bucket of goodies the hotel had provided for us. It’s like they read our minds, we needed chocolate!!!!

The beds are amazing, the room gets so nice and dark, the bathrooms are impeccably clean, and each room has everything you could possibly need. In the founders suite we were shocked just how many tvs were in our room, including the personal pop up screen in the master suite!!! The service is out of this world, and every element feels like a vacation. I can’t recommend this spot more, its a must on your short list!

The hotel remains open during these difficult times, and is taking extreme measures to keep their guests safe and keep the hotel sanitary. If you should find yourself needing a place to stay I highly suggest Ironworks Indy. I know a lot of trips have been canceled due to the pandemic, and families are looking for activities closer to home. I have to say I truly to think a visit to Indianapolis, staying with Ironworks is one of the best staycations you could possibly take. Close enough to home, but feels like a retreat!! It’s too good, not to take advantage.
